No hyperlinks on minTOC in FrameMaker Version: 17.0.8.853

I am running the new updated version of FrameMaker and it seems it has stopped generating pdf hyperlinks on miniTOCs. Am I the only one to experience this?...

    Hi Bjørn:

I updated to 17.0.8.853 and added a mini-TOC. The links worked within FrameMaker and in the exported PDF.

    So to troubleshoot:

    • Did you enable Create Hypertext Links when you added the MTOC? Do you see the hypertext markers at the beginning of each line and the gotoObjectID... on the MTOC reference page?
    • Are you assigning character styles to the entry or the page number or the character in between?
    • If you can follow them in FrameMaker, how are you exporting to PDF?

And I'm always happy to look at a file if you are comfortable sharing it.

You know I'm always happy to help! Mini-TOCs in the 90s had to be done with text insets. Maybe that's the issue?

I believe the cause was that these were - very - old FM documents from early nineties. Maybe there's some "stuff" missing on the reference pages or somewhere else, that prohibits generation hyperlinks in minitocs. I did test again with new documents, and, as you say, this works ok. Thank you for looking into the matter. Always a little paranoid with updates 🙂

    Hi Bjørn:

I'll go play with it, but can we rule out character styles on the entries? And do the links work within Framemaker and just not on the PDF output?
