Not printing due to hidden images

Hello ,

I am having problems creating a pdf.

When the printing starts it gets to a certain point and then Cannot print some imported images. Click OK to continue. comes up. Acrobat then produces an error log, as follows:

%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%

%%[Page: 1]%%

%%[Page: 2]%%

%%[Page: 3]%%

%%[Page: 4]%%

%%[Page: 5]%%

%%[Page: 6]%%

%%[Page: 7]%%

%%[Page: 8]%%

%%[Page: 9]%%

%%[Page: 10]%%

%%[Page: 11]%%

%%[Page: 12]%%

%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: exe ]%%

Stack:

{/@FL --where-- --not-- {--pop-- --end-- --end--} {--pop--} --ifelse--}

-dict-

%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%

%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

The reason it will not print is because I have images that are placed inside a graphic frame that are very large. The only solution is to crop the offending pictures.

Does anybody have a more elegant solution?

Check to see if the image has any issues in the first place by directly creating a PDF of it - you can use either Distiller or Acrobat for this.

The reported error doesn't seem to be related to the size of the image file. What type of graphic are you using and how big (in terms of pixels) is it?

The image is used elsewhere in the document, so it's definitely not a problem with the image itself.

As an example from my last error, the image was a png, 242 kb and 150 dpi (8.533" x 4.8").

If I move this file onto the whole page, it will print OK. If I drop it into a graphic frame (so the unseen part of the picture would be off the page), FM refuses to print.

Which version of FM, how are you creating the PDF (SaveAsPDF or printing to the AdobePDF printer instance or printing to file and distilling or... ?), and is this a an Anchored frame or the Graphic frame that is being used?

Why is this new forum showing my actual name rather than my screen name?

Can I turn this off?

So it does! For a while I was worried my superhero glasses had fallen off.

Cheers, Jeff.
