Number of deactivations/activations

I have just been informed by Adobe Support that the maximum number of activations/deactivations on one license/SN is 20. Is this true? What is Adobe thinking when it makes this ruling. I use FM8 from two locations by activating/deactivating as needed and essentially with a 20 max rule I'm now out of options. (I know I can install on two machines, but I prefer to activate/deactivate).

    The fact that you can have the software simultaneously activated on two systems that you use (not one for you and one for a co-worker) - both systems cannot be running the software simultaneously, though - should resolve your issue without activation/deactivation cycles.

    Note that the 20 activation/deactivation cycle limit is not absolute. If you go over it, call Adobe Activation Support (the phone number you get on the screen) and explain the situation. They will normally "up" the cycle limit for you.

    20 max? wow, I hadn't heard that, but it never occurred to me that there might be a limit, either. That sure puts a damper on testing FM on various O/S versions.

    As this is a user-to-user forum nobody here will have a definitive "from the source" answer to whether it's true or not, but maybe some personal experience one way or the other will help answer the question.

    Absolutely. I posted it because I was curious to know if any other user had been given the same information. If it is true, I would have expected to see other posts about it. Support gave me an extension on activates/deactives so I'll see how far I get with that.

    David,

    AFAIK, you can have two installs/locations activated (e.g. work and home or mobile) and don't have to deactivate/re-activate when switching between the two. The only catch is that you can't be using both simultaneously. I've got that set-up for my work and mobile. So far, no issues.
