Numbered and bullet styles do not line up at left indent

Hello all,

I have generated HTML5 output from Framemaker 2020 and had relatively good success with the styles translating correctly. However, bulleted and numbered lists are not indenting correctly...with the first line extending farther to the right than subsequent wrapped lines.

I've tried manipulating the styles using the built-in style editor...but apparently whatever I'm doing is not making a bit of difference. Has anyone worked through this and have any advice or fixes?

In sample HTML5 output below, bulleted list and numbered list wrap issue is displayed. I'm not sure what the 3 dots after the bullet are either.

You'll likely find that the HTML code shows you have <p> elements that mimic a list with formatting, rather than converting your content to HTML lists. Use the option to convert your bullets and numbers to lists, and then work on the CSS for formatting.

Thank-you Matt. This option did remove the weird extra spaces/dots before the bullet symbol. However, text is now butted up against the bullet (The bullet is a character style associated with the paragraph style). The CSS editor in FM is not exactly user friendly. Many of the categories and fields do not translate nicely when comparing them to an actual CSS file with the various tags. Do you have a tutorial or article that outlines the fields in the FM editor and what they each do? (I don't believe even Adobe has any clear information on it). 🙂 Thank-you again for your help. Vera

I agree that the CSS editor is a bit ambiguous!

I don't think I have much in the way of a CSS tutorial for that function in Fm, but I'll check on what I have tomorrow....If I don't find something specific, I'll try to put together a generic demo in the next few days and post it here and add it to the next version of Working with Content.
