Page Count

The correct way is to delete it from the pagination so i think jaloren28 gave the best answer.

Mark the "best" one (i.e., best practice, easiest, most likely to be done wrong) as Correct and the other as Helpful.

You also have to look at the following chapter to see if it's been set

to start on a left- or right-hand page. If, for example, chapter 1 is

three pages long, chapter 2 cannot start on page 4 if it's set to begin

on a right-hand page. So FrameMaker inserts a blank page 4 to make

chapter 2 start on a right-hand page (page 5).

From the book window, right-click on the file(s), select Pagination,

and set 1st Page Side to "Next Available." Note that this option is not

available when setting pagination from within a document window.

Its probably because you are using default pagination, which makes the page count even before printing.

1. Open the framemaker book.
2. select all the files in the book.
3. right-click one of the files and select pagination.
4. In the Pagination dialog box, select Delete Empty Pages from the Before Saving and Printing drop-down menu.
