Question

Paragraph Designer Panel Buttons Sticking in Framemaker 9.0

Hi,

I have a recurring problem in Framemaker 9.0 in which panel buttons in the paragraph designer stick, and I can't toggle back and forth between them. For example, while working on a document, I have my paragraph designer open with the "Default Font" fields displayed. I want to adjust line spacing, but when I click the "Basic" button nothing happens. The button is effectively stuck. Clicking other buttons in the paragraph designer proves futile as well.

The only solution to this that I've discovered is to reboot Framemaker completely.

I was hoping the new patch would fix this, but it doesn't seem to. Does anyone else recognize this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks you in advance!

I just noticed this same question was posed by another user. Sadly, it appears this is a bug in the UI.

I don't recall what the other posting said, but I've recently found that the sticking only seems to be triggered when I'm on master pages and adjusting tabs by manually moving the tab markers in the ruler bar. Doing the same thing while on the body pages doesn't seem to lock up the dialog boxes, nor does adjusting the tabs by changing the values in the dialog box.

agreed that a reboot seems to be the only solution; just closing and reopening FM doesn't seem to do the trick.

Yes...there is another thread called Paragraph Designer Freezes...(should be towards the top of this forum)...sound like the same thing and it does happen when adjusting tabs stops with the ruler. Normally I can just start FM over. Maybe they will get a fix for this soon....seems many are having the same problem. I was told to report it Adobe supprt.
