PDF conversion problem with colored lines

I have FM9 and am using it in the unstructured mode. For my manuals that mix two papers sizes I must Print Book instead of Print PDF. When I do this my colored lines and arrows and colored text for hyperlinks turn black in the PDF. Any suggestions how to fix this? Thanks.

It sound like you're using a different postscript printer from the AdobePDF printer instance. Have this set as your session default printer. You can use the SetPrint utility from Sundorne ( Sundorne Communications - SetPrint ) to ensur that you will always hav tthe correct configuration for FM.

Note: if everything is set correctly, you should also be able to use the SaveAsPDF properly for mixed sizes.

re: ... different postscript printer from the AdobePDF printer instance.

FM can generate PDF with almost any Ps printer driver configured as the [default] printer when rendering.

I know from experience that if you configure, for example, a LaserJet 4M Ps driver, you get a grayscale PDF. Using even older Ps drivers likely results in other limitations being placed on the output. I'd expect coordinates to be snapped to a 300 dpi grid, for example, if using an LJ3 Ps driver.

The AdobePDF printer instance (PDFCreator add-on) was created specifically to be able provide the capabilities for a PDF. Using any other postscript printer, will introduce the physical limitations of that printing device. Just don't do it!
