Would anyone know the code to put the right pointy finger hand sysmbol in Frame for the Format Box in the Paragrapgh Designer?

Thanks!

Sam

Use a font (such as Segoe UI Symbol) that populates Unicode code point:
    U+261B BLACK RIGHT POINTING INDEX

    \u261b in Fm notation
If for some reason that particular font isn't available in the final user client, the client app at least knows what was intended.

Using legacy Wingdings requires using both code point
\x46 (which is U+0046, or just plain "F" in Unicode)

and a Character Format or override to Wingdings, which could be lost in serving the document (showing up as F).

Personally, I do all non-keyboard characters as Variables. This one would either be relying on a body font that populated 261B, or there would be a Character Format that did, perhaps named UnicodeSymbol:
Variable Name: U+261B BLACK RIGHT POINTING INDEX
    Definition: <UnicodeSymbol>\u261b

You're welcome, Sam, but I must confess I'm a bit confused as to where you wanted this ☛ to appear.

Was it in end-product document text, FM menu, or some authoring data construct?
In general FM knows nearly all Unicode characters (including SMP, U+10000 and above, which it doesn't actually fully support yet). And it has an annoying habit of converting \uHHHH markup in Variable definitions to actual Unicode glyphs, even when they are obfustcated by doing so.

Open Windows Character Map. It's a small program which comes with Windows.

Navigate to the font WingDings. There you can find the character. Double click it and copy it from the small window in the bottom of Character Map.

I am not entirely sure where you want the character to appear, but if it is in the Numbering section of Paragraph Designer, you can copy paste it into the line for numbering variables. In order to make it show the pointy finger character, you will have to create a character tag, with WinDings as font setting. When you have done that, you can assign that character tag in the Paragraph Designers numbering window.

    Bjorn,

    Thank you for your reply.

That did the trick. I remember reading that now!

    Thanks again!
