Pre-tagging text files for FrameMaker 11

In older versions of FrameMaker I used to be able to pre-tag a text/data file using @14963412 name=[paratext] at the beginning of a paragraph so that when the file was imported to a FrameMaker template, the specified tag would be applied automatically and I didn't have to apply the tags manually. This doesn't seem to work any more, but I can't believe this feature is no longer available. How do I do the same thing for FrameMaker 11 please?

Never heard of this – sounds like you’ve got something scripted?

Nope - definitely not scripted, just text markup in an ASCII text file.

    Chris,

Are you by any chance referring to FM's MML mark-up?

The documentation is available at: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FrameMaker/8.0/mml_reference.pdf

This functionality hasn't changed in a loooong time.

    Alternatively:

For much more control for tagged text markup, you might want to have a look at Datazone's Miramo Personal Edition tool (see: http://www.miramo.com/english/overview/dp_download.html )

This is a "freebie" version that runs from the desktop, requires an operator (i.e. you can't batch submit to a server) and doesn't require the FrameMaker Server version. You can use either XML or your own custom defined tagging (along with their pre-processor utility that will convert your mark-up to the requisite Miramo-XML). This is an industrial strength tool.
