Problems Printing to Postscript (FM2020, v.16.0.4)

I recently got "refreshed" to  new (Win10) computer at work, which involved reinstalling FrameMaker and Acrobat Pro (and in the process, I got FM updated to 16.0.4). I quickly discovered that my usual method of generating PDFs -- File --> Print Selected Files.. to generate a .ps file, and then distilling it to PDF with Distiller -- no longer worked: It generated a 0kb .ps file. Initially, I couldn't print directly to PDF, either, though (re)setting the Adobe PDF printer instance to be my default (i.e., rather than selecting it in the Print dialog) seems to have fixed that.

So I can actually generate the PDFs I need now, but I'm curious: Did something happen to the ability to print to .ps? The "new" method works; I'm wondering why the method I've been using for years and years... doesn't.

I also have this issue since moving to Windows 10. If I delete the 0KB .ps file and generate the .ps file again, it works as expected.

This behavior seems to occur only if the last time I created a PDF file, it was from a browser, such as printing a receipt from an online purchase. I don't know if this only happens with Firefox, or with other browsers as well.

    In File » Print Setup,
    what Ps driver is configured?
and how is File » Print » Print Document
    set up? e.g.
    ☑ Print to File [/path/…/filename.ps]
    It defaults to .prn
I don't even see the Adobe ps driver on my system anymore; just the MS PostScript driver (which may have been contributed to MS by ADBE)

If by PS driver, you mean the Adobe PFD printer instance, yes, it's installed, and it's set as my system default. And yes, Print to File is checked and the file type is .ps. I'm doing everything the same as I was on my previous computer and with v.16.0.3 on my new computer (which, according to the IT folks, is supposed to be functionally equivalent to the previous one) and with v.16.0.4, but where I used to get a proper, distillable .ps file, now I'm getting an empty one.

    Hi,

Very strange. I have the same version, and everything works well.

Can you save as PDF? Can you also check, what happens, when you set in the Publish pod to use the Distiller?

    Best regards
