Publishing chm does not work after update to FM 2022 17.0.3

Hi! We would like to produce our CHM output directly in Framemaker. I worked on the development of the setting file (sts) until December 19. I was able to compile CHM output. After updating Framemaker 2022 from version 16 to 17, I can no longer generate CHM. All other outputs (HTML, Responsive, PDF etc.) work as usual. Even with the default settings I get no output.
It doesn't matter whether I compile individual files or book files. No CHM is generated.
The log gives this error message at the end:
"Warning: the size of the stop file must be limited to 512 bytes."
Is there a work around? Does anyone know the error?

Interesting - sounds like some component of the old HTML Help Workshop didn't get installed when you upgraded.

Adobe support was able to generate CHM, but I was still unable to install it. After updating to 2022.17.0.4 Framemaker, I was able to generate CHMs again. So the problem is solved.

I started a new attempt to update the old projects from RH 2019 Classic to RH 2022 (or via the Publish function in FM).

To help isolate the issue, are you able to install 17.0.0 (or first or second update) to test your ability to create CHM?

This might be the fastest way to rule out or confirm the 17.0.3 update as the cause of your issue.

    Good suggestion -

How can I proceed? Where can I get the different versions? I had an update from 16* to this version.

I believe you should be able to see versions in your Adobe account.

Sounds like an issue then - see https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#framemaker for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including FrameMaker.

I can't make it work either. I get a different error though. "Failed to get FrameMaker document from ....". I have tried with a couple of simple documents.

Try with a brand new set of FM files - they can be nonsensical lorsum ipsum & see if you can produce a CHM with them. If you can, then there's something going on with the project that won't produce them; if you can't, then that indicates something has changed in FM2022 & you'd need to contact the FM folks.
