Hello,

 

I have created page breaks by doing Insert/page break/page.

Now,  how to remove a specific page break (the page break on page 3 by example) ?

Because actually I cannot see the page break symbol, so I cannot click on it to remove it (like in Word).

Or did you use the Page Break pod to make a paragraph start at the top of a page?

That's simply an override of the paragraph format. The same as if you would change the pagination of a specific paragraph in the Paragraph Designer. Then you have several options:

Import paragraph formats and remove manual page breaks.

Or search for paragraph overrides in the Find/Change dialog.

Hi Winfried,

What I have done is : Insert/Page Break / Page :

 

So, I have put my cursor before a paragraph, and after having done the page break, this parapgraph is put at the top of the next page.

Now, I have two cases :

1) Delete a specific page break :

If I want to delete this specific page break, thanks to you, I have put my cursor before this paragraph and pressed the DEL key and it deleted the created page break.

 

2) Delete all page breaks of the document :

In case I want to delete all the page breaks in the document, thanks to you, I have created an empty template and from my document I make File/Import/Format and select the name of my template and check also "delete manual page breaks" then I import. Result : it deleted all page breaks in the document.

Do you think what I have done is correct ?

OK. Step 2 is definitely correct. This removed the local overrides of the paragraphs and thus removed the page break setting in the Paragraph Designer.

I do not know, what step 1 did. FrameMaker does not have something like a page break character like in Word. Therefore I do not know, what happened, when you deleted something. It seems that it was nothing critical.

The only "character" which FrameMaker knows for page breaks is the marker for the Split Current Document utility. This marker is only active, when you split your document. This is what I had explained in my first post. However, you had not used these markers, and they would not have worked in your case.

Hi,

Do you mean that you had inserted markers for page breaks which you want to use for the Split utility?

Then you have to use the Find/Change panel and search for your markers.

Then you can delete it (also via Find/Change or with the DEL button on your keyboard).
