Re: TOC not updating page numbers FrameMaker 2017

I am in the same boat with the TOC. It will not generate and the one that was there before will not pick up the two chapters I added since inheriting the book. I tried generating a new TOC but the formatting is wrong and I cannot seem to import anything from the existing TOC that has the  correct formatting. I am not a Frame guru either so this is frustrating at best.

I am not even sure where I am going wrong at this point!

If you would like to continue troubleshooting in the forum, the next step is to show us your book window.

It will not generate and the one that was there before will not pick up the two chapters I added since inheriting the book.

Does the TOC have the orange/black icon that generated files display, or was it created manually by a user with an orange/white icon? If it's orange/white, that's the issue.

It's not clear how much you work with generated files, but they have a series of rules you must follow for them to work as expected. If you are importing the formatting from an old TOC, make sure you a.) import the reference pages because they control the presenation of the data and b.) be sure the paragraph styles follow the required naming convention of style name + suffix.

Let's split you out from that old thread - what version of FM are you using & are you all patched up? Can you post some screenshots of what's going on?
