I am doing some cleanup before exporting and I don't know much about FrameMaker....

I want to replace the paragraph format ABC with XYZ in every page, how would I do this?

I also have a paragraph format I want to delete and make it just a Normal paragraph in every page, I image it will be the same process as 1?

Your help is appreciated

Try this …

  1. make a back-up just in case
  2. find a paragraph with the style you want to apply (XYZ, in your example)
  3. select Edit > Copy special > Paragraph format

this copies the format to the clipboard

  4. open the Find/Change dialogue
    1. put the cursor in a paragraph using the format you want to replace (ABC in your example) and select Paragraph tag from the Find pulldown

if you're in luck, FM may well read the current format from the cursor position; if not, type it in

    2. select By pasting from the the Change pulldown
    3. click [Change] to see whether the result is what you expect
    4. click [Change all] once you're feeling confident

Use the same technique to replace all occurrences of the style you want to delete (PQR, f'r instance) with another style, then delete PQR using the paragraph designer

> I want to replace the paragraph format ABC with XYZ in every page,

Do you want all named ABC to be renamed to XYZ,

or do you just want XYZ to have the same formatting as ABC?

> I also have a paragraph format I want to delete and make it just a Normal paragraph ...

What does "Normal" mean?

Is that the name of a Paragraph Format? (which is not a default FM name)

There is no such concept as a "normal" (untagged, unnamed) format in FM.

Normal/
/
- The style used most frequently in the document. A plain paragraph without any formatting other than the default font and font size.
