"Room for side heads" on Master Pages not working on body pages.

In a new document, I created master pages, each with a text frame type of "Template for Body Page Text Frame," each with the same flow tag.

For each text frame, I activated the "Room for Side Heads" property.

When I apply the master pages to the document body (Format > Page Layout > Master Page Usage > Use Master Page: > Apply), the "Room for Side Heads" property disappears.

Does anyone know why my text frames are not following the master page format applied?

I am using Framemaker 11.

As I recall from a recent discussion, you need to activate that via:

Format > Page layout > Column Layout

  • Room for Side Heads

and it is a document-wide setting, not just for chosen Master Pages.

    That did the trick.

    Thanks much.
