Running H/F1 in Book

Hi,

I am creating a manual where I have a cover page and chapters. On the cover page I have the Running H/F1 variable in the footer. I also want it on the chapter pages, but when I update the book file, it is not picking it up.

Is there a way to fix this?

    What do you have in the footers on the master pages of the chapter files? If you don't have the  Running H/F1 variable there, copy it from the cover page file. Also, what are the building blocks that the variable is using to pick up content?
