"save as .pdf" suddenly not working

… that is, everything was fine yesterday and then this morning it isn't: selecting File > Save as .pdf gets me a second or so of "busy" cursor and then nothing. No Distiller opening up in the tray, and no output .pdf

fwiw, Print to .pdf worked fine.

How can I start diagnosing the problem?

FM 10.0.2.419, Acrobat X Pro 10.1.2

Niels,

Try to manually print to the AdobePDF printer instance to see if it's present and alive on your system. If that works, then try the SaveAsPDF again (it sometimes needs a kick in the nether regions to wake it up).

Otherwise, check your installed printers to see if it's there and then check the "Port" settings to see if it's pointing to a valid location.
