Question

Set the table continuation variable to right-justify automatically?

I normally insert a paragraph break, (the table title paragraph tag is set as a run, left-justified) and then right-justify the variable by hand, so that the variable is on the same line as the title and ends at the right edge of the table header..

Is there any way to set this variable to right-justify automatically using Framemaker 2015?

Thanks!

The other idea I had, Margaret, is to continue with what you are already doing with the run-in on TableTitle, but add a new tag for the variable paragraph, and then set Next Paragraph Style to the variable tag (I called mine TableTitle Variable, and it's aligned to the right), so that all you have to do is press Enter to assign it on the first page of the table.

You are very welcome, Margaret! Which one did you go with?

    Hi Margaret:

How about editing the table continuation to have a tab at the beginning, instead of space? Then you could define a right-align tab stop for the TableTitle tag. That would work for a single line title. If not, I have an idea for multi-line titles.

including a tab in the variable definition is creatively devious – I like that!
