Simple fix for error message Book is not self-consistent

When I update my books, I sometimes get the error message Book is not self-consistent.

I always restarted FrameMaker or Windows or saved everything as MIF and back to FM. And this always seemed to help.

However, I am now pretty sure that this was not the real fix.

Instead it was the table of contents or index.

I have Track Text Edits activated.

When I update the book, and both, the TOC and the index are closed, I do not get this error message.

When either the TOC or the index is open, I get this error message. When I close these files, no error message.

It’s really that simple. No restarting, no resaving.

I hope this helps others.

I do not know, if this error message counts as a bug which should be fixed.
