Splicing FrameMaker documents together

I think we need to see what exactly you’re doing - we’re unsure if you’re adding .fm files to a .book or are trying to insert text insets into a document that then lives in a .book...

Documents in a book always start on their own page. You can manually do it by importing each document into a single document as a text inset. Importing text like this is similar to importing a graphic by reference. This could be automated with a script. Please contact me off list if you are interested.

​@JoshMcNeil You don’t mention whether the files are text or graphics, or whether you use Structured or Unstructured Framemaker. Do you insert the files using File > Import > File? That should insert them wherever your cursor is in the document when you insert them. If it is text, it is possible that the Paragraph Style for the first line of text in the inserted text has its Pagination set to Start at the Top of Page.
