Hi Framers,

I'm trying to put Tab Stops with Leaders in a Table. It appears that's not possible. Im I missing something?

Thanks!

Sam

You certainly can—the trick is adding the tab characters to the table. Once they are in the table, you can add the tab stop/leaders the same way you do anywhere else.

To add a tab to a table:

    • Press Esc Tab (sequential keystrokes, not consecutive), or
    • Add them as an auto-number in Paragraph Designer by adding a \t to the auto-number format text box

I add tabs in a table with find/change.

In the Change text field enter \t for each tab character.

    Then just click Change.

You can also put a tab character on the clipboard & just paste it in.

Somewhat surprisingly, a Variable (Def: \t) also works.

It might be a simple matter of the hack needed to type a tab into a table cell:
    [Esc][Tab]

Just hitting the [Tab] key performs table navigation.

If that's not the problem, we can explore the tab settings for the cell Paragraph Format. which is to say, I was trivally able to get leader tab.
