Table continued variable element not closed

Question

Hi All,

I have a structured FrameMaker document the wraps Table Continuation variables in a <table-continued> element.

When I save the individual document to XML, the element is correctly closed:

However, if this document is part of a book and save the book as XML, the element is not correctly closed and the XML parser reports an error.

Any ideas why I am getting this behavior? Thank you very much.

I support an application that has an analogous structure. It's been used to produce thousands of books and we have never encountered a problem exporting the element used for the Table Contunation variable. Is it possible that an FDK client or XSLT process is interfering with the output? Could you somehow be saving the document as SGML instead of XML?
