Table footnote question

I'm using FrameMakre 7.0. When doing a SaveAs PDF from Frame, I noticed that superscripted footnote numbers in tables do not get hyperlinked in the resultant PDF document.

Is this normal behavior, or is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

That's default behavior for footnotes and table footnotes, in both in ver 7 and ver 9 (probably 8 too, but I didn't check specifically)  -- I'd forgotten this.  If you need them to be hyperlinked, one workaround is to use cross-references instead of "true" footnotes.

It's also be possible to make a new Cross-ref style, e.g. "Special", that doesn't have any actual formatting, e.g. no number or paratext, just a placeholder character like a thin-space maybe -- and apply that to the footnote indicator in the cell, so that the hyperlink will work when the cursor is immediately after the indicator letter. A bit of a kludge, but could be workable.

I'm attaching a sample MIF file showing this workaround -- check the blue foonote "a". This file is named as .txt but just change that to .mif to open it in FM.

And, last, you might also take a look at the TimeSavers tool at http://www.microtype.com -- TimeSavers often has good solutions for these sorts of FM issues. If you don't see anything on the site, do e-mail Shlomo at Microstype directly, in case it's a feature he might be able to add.
