Text wrapping in side-heads

Is there a way to make text wrap or insert a carriage return in a side-head? I have a paragraph format with an autonumber format that is two words, 15 characters total, and a side-head alignment. The text does not wrap, it just overlaps. I'm sure there's a way to make it wrap, but I have not been able to figure it out or to find anything by internet search. Has someone run into this before who can help me fix it?

How about a soft-return (Shift Enter)?

I'm sorry, I re-read your post. It's not text on the page, it's text coming in via an autonumber format?

I'm going to go with a no. You might consider smaller type, or a wider side head to accommodate the width:

As Barb has implied, an autonumber cannot extend over multiple lines. If you are using side heads with predefined text, consider entering the text in a multi-line reference frame and inserting it as a frame above (or frame below) in the paragraph format for the side head.

Are you sure the Pagination property for that paragraph is:
(*) Side Head--Alignment
and not:
(*) Across All Columns and Side Heads

Yes, I'm certain. Here's the pertinent tab:
