The request failed with an empty response

(Connecting FM11 to SH2010)

While attempting to connect with Connection Manager, I get the response "The request failed with an empty response"

Any idea what to inspect next?

The SP2010 site connects as expected through Internet Explorer, so the user credentials are probably correct.
