TOC shows on odd pages only

I have a book file with a TOC that is generating on odd pages only. the previous revision of the book was fine and i tried importing formats from that file to no avail. everything else is correct and ordered properly. using unstructured FM version 16.0.4.1062

I also think it's a auto-connect issue with the frames. If you can't figure it out, I'm happy to take a quick look at the file. You can put it on dropbox and post a link here (public) or message me (private). But go ahead and explore Lin's recomendations first.

One more thing, when you generate a TOC for the first time from scratch, it grabs its intial formatting from the first non-generated file in the book list. So your first non-generated file may hold the clue to the issue.

When you say you imported formats, do you mean just the paragraph formats or did you include master pages, too? Is there a gap in the contents of the TOC? As in, does the information that should be on the even numbered pages just disappear, or does it move to the next odd number page? You have pagination set to Double-Sided, starting on the Right? Master Page usage is Right/Left?

That's very odd, I don't recall any setting that would print only to the odd pages if you have it set to double-sided and have master pages for both right and left pages.

I included the entire set of items to import including master pages. the text flows into the next odd page automatically. i checked the pagination properties and all are set to double-sided starting on right. master page usage is set to right/left. The text flow boxes on both of the right and left master pages have the same tag and are set to autoconnect. This is a very strange issue indeed and i have not seen it before.

Is it possible you have two frames on the left master that overlay each other? If there are two, Frame can use the untagged/not connected one instead, I think.

Was the left master created after the right? The autoconnect can get messy depending on the order you add pages.

When you imported, did you tell it to remove overrides?

If it's not one of those things, I may be flummoxed.

Oh, and did you also do a MIF wash?
