Trouble with cross references after moving files to new location.

I copied a book and files from a coworker and I am getting unresolved cross references to a file called Revision History.fm. I am using Framemaker 11 (not structured).

Do you have that file as part of the packet of files copied?

If so, check the link path to see if it is absolute or relative and if your folder naming matches that of the x-ref.

I copied the book and all associated files, but I do find some strange path

to a file path that I can't access on someone else's computer. I tried

recreating the path on my computer, adding a blank file with the same name,

and importing the file into my FM book, but it didn't work either.

If the x-ref was to a specific file, then you need to have the actual file, not a blank file with the same name. FM is looking for the internal markrs.
