Unable to run update on .book file

I am trying to update a .book file in order to regenerate a new TOC for the TM we are working, as there are areas that have been updated, but for some reason this machine gets to a certain point and then hangs up and I get a Framemaker not responding and then it just quits and doesn't complete the task at hand. Anyone else seeing this issue or know a way to get around it. We are using FrameMaker 12 on Dell Laptops running 8MB of RAM with 64bit OS's with Windows 7 Professional.

Stalls? Crashes? Winks out? Throws error?

What, if anything, appears in the console window?

Does it update other books?

Does it update the prior version of the problem book?

Error7103, It tells me it is Not Responding and then the process just shuts down and stops, doesn't crash or anything just stops. Right now I am the only one running the updates on this particular file, but I have had others attempt to run it on there machines in this office and again it does the same thing to those as well. There is only one version of this book.

If it worked before, then I would have a look at excluding what you just added & try again. If it goes through, then you know the offending file is the one just added.

That is the problem the book file has been the same, nothing has been added, I corrected a tag that was causing a figure to not show up in the TOC, one of several. This problem has been ongoing since we updated to FM 12 at times. Sometimes it works, most times you have to do the update process over and over again before it finally takes.
