Question

Underline tab spaces (FM2022 Structured)

Is there a way to create something similar to the following example created in that MS product-whos-name-I-shall-not-speak

I tried using the custom leader in the tabs, using an underscore, but that didn't look right - it doesn't line up properly with the actual underline from the text. I'm writing a document and this is a format requirement, so I don't any option of ignoring it.

Thanks,

Quintin

    Hi Quintin,

I fear that the underscore character will always not have the same distance to regular text as underlining.

When I tested this, I noticed that without underscore tabs the tab was not underlined.

With underscore tabs the tab was underlined, although in a different distance to the text than the underscore character. And there was a space between the underlining before and after the tab.

It could be that some fonts are better.

I do not know of a solution.

If you need this underlining only once, then I would fake this with a regular line. Or with a table with ruling below the table cell.

    Best regards, Winfried

Thanks, Winfried. Turns out the final document must be in MS Word (ugh!), so no point in me wasting any more time with it. I'll just pass on it.
