Question

Upgrade from Frame10 to Frame11 and the response code

My serial number is accepted, and when I try to activate the software, it says I need to connect to the internet and try again (I am already connected) or activate the software offline with a response code & my new Frame 11 serial number.  I have been using FrameMaker since version 3, and currently I have been using Frame 10 for some time. I have a FrameMaker 11 upgrade that requires a response code to activate the software.  Can I still activate the Frame 11 software?

Hmm, you might not be able to - are you getting the message that says something about Internet Explorer? If so, you might need to apply the fixes in this post - https://helpx.adobe.com/tech-comm-suite/kb/deprecated-internet-explorer-10-with-ims.html

If not, then you probably need to contact the FM folks - see https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#framemaker  for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including FrameMaker.

Thanks. I just sent an email to tcssup@adobe.com for help.

Just FYI, I started with FrameMaker on a Mac with version 3.5, and several versions on Sun Workstations.  Over the years, I have used versions 5. 5.5, 7, 9, and 10. I work in CAD, and to me, FrameMaker is CAD for documents.

What platform are you trying to run FM11 on?
While one might guess Windows, I suppose it could be Mac, and less likely Solaris.

If Windows, that would presumably be Win11.
Even if you get past the FM11 licensing DRM issue, will it run with all features? No guesses.
