Upgrade from FrameMaker 2019

I have been through an illness over the past year that has affected my brain processing, so please forgive me if this is an obvious question. I am barely hanging on at work.

My company has been planning since 2022 planning to switch to another application for tech documentation, which kind of terrified me now because I don't think I can learn a new program with the way my mind is not working. Was relieved to learn yesterday that the switch has been shelved for at least another year. But now we need to upgrade to the latest version of FrameMaker. I am currently in FrameMaker 2019 version 15.0.6.956. I'm also using Windows 10 Enterprise. I am wondering how I would upgrade, and also if there is a cost to the upgrade. Thank you and please feel free to just link to relevant answer as I'm sure one is available but I've been unable to find it.

The current FM2022 (rev 17.xxx) is supported on both Windows 10 & 11, and of course all documents port forward.

It's probably straightforward to download & install FM2022, then transition the license.

Perhaps a looming question is the remaining support life of Win10Ent itself, which might have less than a year to go now, and will require a subscription fee for security updates after EndOfLife.

    Hi,

And: The transition from FM 2019 to FM 2022 is very easy! All existing features will continue to work. Just check some of the videos on the Adobe site about new features in FM 2020 and FM 2022. There are definitely some which are very helpful.

Re: Cost - depends if your FM2019 version was subscription or perpetual license. If it's subscription, then you're already eligible to update any time on the plan. Perpetual licencing is gone now for FM2022 - it's all subscription going forward.
