I want to use the <$chapnum> tag when creating a technical manual. This is how I want it to be set-up...

Cover

TOC

Chapter 1

Chapter 2

Chapter 3

Chapter 4

Appendix

When I use the <$chapnum> tag to identify each chapter it gives me...

Cover

TOC

Chapter 2

Chapter 3

Chapter 4

Chapter 5

Appendix

... and completely skips Chapter 1. How do I fix this?

This is in the TOC? Start by checking the ¶ tag name for the title in chapter 1. It needs to exactly match the ¶ name in Chapters 2, 3 etc.
