Using the built-in DocBook EDD samples supplied with FrameMaker12

We currently use FM12, with unstructured documents, and output in PDF, WebHelp and HTML formats. We would like to move to structured authoring. I have looked in the Framemaker 12 manual, but I am still unclear about how to use the built-in DocBook EDD samples supplied with FrameMaker.

Do you have any recommendations, examples, or a tutorial to help us make the transition from unstructured to structured as easy as possible?
