Variable not detecting the chapter title
Hello, all,
I'm editing a book with multiple chapters. In order to use the chapter files as templates for similarly named chapters in other books in the series, I'm putting each chapter title (using the Heading 1 paragraph style) in a text frame on the first master page. To get the chapter number and title to appear in the footer on each even-numbered body page, I created the variable "Running H/F 1", and defined it as follows:
Chapter <$paranumonly[Heading 1]>: <$paratext[Heading 1]>
This definition works perfectly in Chapter 1, but in chapter 2 what appears at the bottom of each even-numbered body page is "Chapter : " obviously the variable isn't seeing the chapter number and title. I've tried a number of things, including importing all formats from Chapter 1 into the Chapter 2 file, but the problem persists. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
