Today when I opened FrameMaker, the WelcomeScreen tab and the About box are formatted incorrectly. This occurs on all of our FrameMaker installations in all of our offices across the world, so it isn’t just on one machine. Yesterday this problem was not occurring, so this just happened.

This is what the WelcomeScreen tab looks like:

This is what the About box looks like:

Hi Pat, you are likely seeing a magnification problem in FrameMaker. You can try a number of things like Ctrl+Scroll Wheel to change the magnification to something normal. Here are details I wrote up for FrameMaker 2019. Just make sure that the Welcome tab is the active tab when you change magnification.

Hi Matt -- Thanks for the reply. I did try using Ctrl+Scroll wheel, and that enabled me to zoom in and out on the WelcomeScreen tab and About box, but it did not fix the formatting problems. For example, on the About box, I can make the font size smaller or larger using the Ctrl+Scroll wheel, but there is still no padding at the top and at the left:

It looks like the content was updated without applying any CSS or something like that. This problem is happening on the WelcomeScreen tab and About box in FrameMaker installations for all 12 writers at our company at the same time, across multiple countries.

I seem to recall it had something to do with your default browser.

The Welcome screen (and perhaps the About box?) is just an HTML file that you can alter. If it's causing an issue, consider opening the file, editing, and distributing a modified file to your team members.
