Question

What can I do to preserve the whitespace for the element: required-cleanup on import DITA xml into Framemaker 11.

I have a question about handling whitespace of elements by importing DITA xml into Framemaker 11.

On import some elements lose all whitespace after the element.

I set to disable dropping whitespaces, the property RemoveExtraWhiteSpacesOnXMLImport in maker.ini to FALSE.

This worked for most elements except the element: required-cleanup

What can I do to preserve the whitespace for the element: required-cleanup.

Shouldn’t this be over in the Structured FM forum? You’re surely not importing DITA XML into an unstructured FM environment, are you?

Do you have the latest FM11 patch? There were a number of whitespace issues in FM11 .. this could be one of them. If you do have the latest patch, then there may not be anything you can do. You might consider trying DITA-FMx (a plugin I produce), which doesn't seem to have this problem ..

Thanks for your help. I already have your plugin version  2.0. I never installed any patches for Framemaker 11, so I will try this first. I hope this will work.
