Question

What is the best way to convert a FrameMaker 7.0 file to an .htm file?

I need to quickly create a decent .htm file out of a FrameMaker file. I use FrameMaker 7.0 and Saved it as an .htm file. Bullets appeared as numbers, many consecutive numbers in lists kept appearing as number 1, etc. Is there a way to format this? Do I have to purchase RoboHelp, WebWorks, or a newer version of FrameMaker? Does FrameMaker 9 convert .htm files in a clean way, or is WebWorks or MadCap or RoboHelp necessary? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

    MIF2Go by omsys.com.

    More features, more flexibility.

Can occasionally be a bear to set up for finicky stuff, but once it's configured, it's bullet-proof.

    dmagnum,

The short answer is that FrameMaker's HTML export has never been worth much, and there is no indication that this will ever change. You'll either need to buy one of the products already mentioned, or build something yourself based on MIF or XML versions of your files.
