what the fuck

I performed the most recent update for Frame (Version: 17.0.9.866). We use PDF merge to perform updates to files. Today we noticed that pure deletions (using annotation; deletion; strikethrough; red line through) performs the deletion but leaves behind a conditional marker with a plus sign and number (e.g., +20040). This behavior was not present before the update. Has anyone else experienced this? Or is aware that it is some sort of intended behavior?

Also, it’s been a while since I posted but playing hide and seek with the creating a post is super annoying. It will be interesting to see if it uses my question as the post title… I’ll be doing some editing if it does.
