Question

Why do the Frame document fonts change when I create a PDF using Save as PDF?

I am using Frame 10 to create my documents. When I create a PDF using Save as PDF, the Arial fonts are changes to Times Roman. If I create the PDF using Print Book (in Frame) and then Create PDF in Acrobat, the file cannot be searched and only copy with formating works (no Ctrl C or V) - the text seems to encrypted.

I need a PDF with my specified fonts and one that is searchable and with Ctrl C copy. Any ideas?

Sounds like something in the joboptions file - do you have the full version of Acrobat or just the "headless" one that ships with FM? If you print the book to the Adobe PDF printer (which should be set as your default printer inside FM), you should be able to adjust the settings.

Jeff,

I have Acrobat Pro that comes with the TechCom Suite, so it is the complete Acrobat.

I have set the book to print from Adobe PDF and unchecked the rely on system fonts option. But the Arial fonts in the book are still being converted to Times Roman.

Any other suggestions?

Regards,

Karen
