Why instead of a TOC does FM return blank pages?

    Of course, without the additional information this could be a non-useful comment :-} but what I've done often enough to remember is cleared all the entries I didn't want (in the left-hand side of the set-up dialogue) and somehow not replaced them with the entries I do want. I can't remember how I've managed this, but I have.

    To check whether you've managed the same trick, right-click on the ToC entry in the .book and then select Set up table of contents from the context menu. If there are no paragraphs/elements in the lefthand list, FM is diligently doing what you asked it to do instead of what you thought you'd asked it to do.

    Anyone who might be able to comment usefully is going to need a lot more detail about how you created the TOC, whether it ever worked, and what changes you've made to it and/or the body files.

    Top suspects:

    • You somehow didn't create the TOC as a "generated" file.
    • You managed to break it as generated.
    • The paragraph tags being sought for inclusion are not present (under their existing names).
