Wildcard search does not consider blank to be a character

Searching with Wildcard ON for

over*cell

Finds OverflowCell, but not Overflow Cell

IMHO this is a bug.

Something like overflow7cells is found correctly, but overflow 7 cells is not found.

It seems that "Any number of characters" must be interpreted as "Any number of alphabetic or numeric character". The very esotheric OverΠοκεμονcells is found...

Tested in FM-15.0.8.979

    Hi Klaus,

When I test this with NotePad++ I get the same result as in FrameMaker.

over*cell does not find overflow cell.

    Possibly a common behaviour.

And isn't there a way to make the search greedy or non-greedy?

    Best regards

Winfried, in th meantime i have learned that blank is handle similar to punctuation (i wildcard search). The meta character is the pipe aka vertical bar.

'My' search can only be achieved with a RegEx ... Although wildcards have some similarities with RegEx, capaabililities are of course much less. I have more experience with RegEx than with WildCars notation.
