xref to a table does not show number in pdf

In FrameMaker 2020, the cross referenced DITA tables are not printed correctly in the PDF file. The WYSIWYG is working fine but the numbering is missing in the PDF: it just shows the word "table" without any number or text, depending on which format you use in the Cross-Reference pod.

The same procedure works fine with figures both in  WYSIWYG and the PDF but not for the tables. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong!

    My bad. The ID must be assigned and reffererd to the title element of the table not to the table element itself. That was causing the problem with xref in this case.
