Adobe Fresco 7.4.2 on iPad Pro M4 - 26.5 - Local files missing after update

I’m using an iPad Pro M4 with Adobe Fresco 7.4.2. Immediately after updating a few days ago, my document library became disorganized and files appeared to be missing.

Symptoms:

  • Several folders that previously contained artwork now appear empty.
  • Many documents have been renamed “Untitled” and open as blank canvases.
  • The Home and Recent views contain lots of blank “Untitled” documents and are missing recent artwork.
  • Documents are out of order.
  • After force quitting and restarting Fresco, some missing files reappeared, and some folders repopulated with the correct artwork and thumbnails when I pulled down to refresh them. However, around lots of documents still appear to be missing.

Additional information:

  • Adobe Fresco is still using 22.1 GB of storage on my iPad.
  • My Creative Cloud storage is full (0 GB remaining), but it has been full for many months and everything worked normally until this update.
  • I have not uninstalled the app because my artwork is stored locally on the iPad.

Has anyone experienced this after updating to 7.4.2? Is there a way to rebuild the local document database or recover the missing documents without risking the local artwork?

This issue is far more serious than a minor bug. There are now multiple users in this thread reporting missing documents, blank files, empty folders, “Conflict” copies, and disorganized libraries after updating to Fresco 7.4.2.

This is professional work. I have been unable to work for the past three days because I cannot trust the integrity of my document library. Some files have disappeared, others have become “Untitled” and open as blank canvases, and I’m now seeing conflict versions being created. I’m afraid to continue working because I don’t know whether creating or editing documents could make the situation worse.

Can an Adobe employee please acknowledge whether this is a known issue and advise what users should not do while you investigate? At the very least, we need guidance on whether it is safe to continue using Fresco, restart the app, sign out, or reinstall without risking further data loss.

Many of us have invested hundreds of hours into our artwork. We urgently need an official response and a recovery plan.

This might have happened to me too. Only like three of my files were there everything else missing. And this happened after I got logged out somehow so maybe that was the update.

All my files are also gone. Recent update I suppose too. At a loss here about what to do but to switch apps. This is a horrendous update.

I’m so sorry :( it’s heart-breaking. All that work and time. I wish Adobe would at least respond and try and help.
