All brushes are light, splotchy, and only appearing on certain pixels

I’m trying to use grungey inker but it’s only appearing on about five pixels of a multiple inch image. Doesn’t matter what brush color or size, I can’t get a single line to appear - just a few pixels. It’s happening with multiple other brushes and changing stylus pressure has had no effect at all. I’ve restarted the app and reconnected the pencil multiple times. How do I fix this?
