apple pencil way too light

 a little frustrated 😞 i've been using apple pencils w/ ipads for the last several years at my highschool. now that ive graduated & would like to continue using adobe fresco, i bought my own Apple Pencil -- however, as u can see, it shows up EXTREMELY light with zero pressure variation. this is a new issue for me as every other pen i've used worked perfectly. 

please refrain from telling me to just try again bc i have not found any other advice for this specific issue 😭 pls help!!
