I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to but are you talking about the brush shape when painting?
If so you can go to App settings > Input > Brush preview and select Off

If this is not what you mean, can you give us more details, which brush, and which device, in case it is different to what I see on my iPad or Win10 systems.
