Can there be a pause before a path follow and how do I make an image follow the path exactly?

I'm trying to make an animation where some colored square slide down from their original place. I'm using the path animation option, but when I use it they immediately follow the path. Is there a way I can make a pause before they follow the path? Also, when I make the path, the image doesn't move from its original spot. It'll move slight to the left or right then follow the path. How can I prevent this? Any help for both questions will be highly appreciated.

I don' think you can currently set a wait before movement time. The animation seems to be looping through the frames so if you set blank ones at the start the graphics just blink on and off.

Check the path make sure it doesn't have a small kick on the start of the path. Use the ruler to make sure the line you draw is perfectly straight and starts from the centre of your square.
