Finger Smudge tool not working properly

I recently downloaded a bunch of different brushes on Fresco and I was obsessed with the finger smudge tool from the pack. Anyway, as of few days ago it stopped working properly. I basically need to close the app and re launch it, every single time. How can I solve this? It's slowing down my work flow immensely.
