Fresco send to Illustrator no longer works

I'm trying to see if I can send a vector drawing to Animate since it's a lot easier to draw on my Ipad.  The only way I see is to send it to Illustrator, then import from there.  Unfortunately, ever since the latest Big Sur update the 'send to Illustrator' option does nothing.  It says "document sent" in Fresco but absolutely nothing happens on my desktop.

It doesn't really make sense, but try this:

Log OUT of your desktop Creative Cloud app, then log back in to the app.

When I upgraded to Catalina, it was something I did to get everything moving well.  I don't remember having to restart my computer, but at that stage, you're trying everything. I think it was just the logout/login that worked.

I still haven't upgraded to Big Sur yet.  Lemme know how it's going otherwise. 🙂

This is due, I believe, to a bug in the Apple's notificaiton system that started showing up on older Macs in one of the Big Sur updates and continued into at least Mac OS Ventura 13.0.  The latest upgrade to MacOS Sonoma has fixed this issue on my old MacBookPro 2019.

I was experiencing this same issue where I had to sign out and then back into Creative Cloud Desktop everytime on my old MacBook Pro 2019 running MacOS Ventura 13.0. Here is a screen grab my Mac's get info screen at that point:

This weekend I upgraded that Mac to MacOS Sonoma, gave it about 20 minutes idle time to do whatever background updates an older Mac does after an upgrade, and then restarted it. Now sending a copy from Fresco to AI Desktop is working successfully and repeatedly! Here is the new get info screen for my old Mac that is now working:

richardt29542559 - please try upgrading to Sonoma if your Mac supports it and let me know if that fixes the issue.

I have started getting this too. Logout on Desktop works but I have to do it constantly. Logout of iPad doesn't work so obviously a desktop issue.

Hi @derekwatson,

We are sorry to hear that. Please ensure that Illustrator & Creative Cloud is updated & running on the desktop and both desktop & iPad on the same fast wifi for optimal performance. Also, please check that there is no network interference and that you are not using any VPN, Antivirus, or office network that blocks external links.

If you are still experiencing the issue. Please send me a DM so we can further investigate the issue.

Thanks,

Anshul Saini

Hi

Still having the issue. Can’t see why it would have started blocking as has worked since it was introduced. Sign out then back in works

You're not alone here.

It was working fine for me until 2am this morning when switching to AI after export from FR, I now get a error message saying The file is not readable

What gives?

And layers that are vector aren't vector but have some sort of accidentally pixel brush layer within the layer. Grouping vector layers seems to default to a pixel grouped layer instead of vector. Why? As much as I do love the app, there's sopme serious changes needing to happen. One of which is the unnecessary masks that come with an exported file.

Sooooo unnecessary....

I signed out and restarted my desktop just in case and it worked.  I guess I should have done that in the first place but didn't think it was necessary.  Thanks.

This feature still works from iPad to Illustrator on Windows10.

Have you tried opening Illustrator to see if the document is available? Rather than waiting to see if it will open automatically? I've had to do that in the past, which is why I ask.

Yes, I have.  It doesn't make a difference.
