Grid Snapping for drawing?

Hello Fresco.

 

Im drawing a house in the front flat view and trying to get snap to grid to work as I draw to speed things up. It  works in perspective but not in grid mode which is unusual. Obviously making a perspective grid vanishing points work for a flat image the way grid does is not possible. I was wondering if Im missing something or can you not to do snap drawing in grid rulers?
